Legal notices apply to your use of Shatterscreen.com regardless of whether or not you choose to select the relevant link where the terms are detailed. You are considered to be notified of these legal notices through your use of this site.

Terms & Conditions

1. Our Relationship with our clients

1.1 The contract for the replacement windscreen and windscreen repair work you have done is made between you and Shatterscreen.com, you are responsible for the full payment for the window screen replacement or repair work you instruct

1.2 If you are insured and have glass cover you can pay the bill to Shatterscreen.com and then your insurer will reimburse you less your excess charge and to any limitation to cover that applies to your insurance policy. Where we are able to bill your insurance company direct we will do, in most instances you will have to pay Shatterscreen.com your excess (and VAT if applicable). We will seek payment for the remainder of the replacement windscreens or windscreen repair work from you only in the instance that your insurer refuses to pay for some or all necessary charges.

1.3 Any amount that you owe that will not be paid to your insurer is payable prior to window screen replacement or repair work being carried out (and VAT applicable).

1.4 If you are not insured with any glass cover, we ask that the full amount is paid prior to completion of replacement windscreens or windscreen repair work

1.5 If you are VAT registered, the VAT amount on your bill is payable prior to completion of the window screen replacement or repair work, even if we are billing your insurer

1.6 Shatterscreen.com maintain the right to subcontract work

1.7 A cancellation fee of £30.00 applies after an appointment has been paid for

2. Repair and Replacement Work

2.1 If the fitter decides that the glass is repairable we will normally try to repair a chipped windscreen. We cannot guarantee that attempts to repair windscreens will be successful every time and that the chip will not become a crack during the repair. In such an event then you may need to have your windscreen replaced and have to pay your excess if required by your insurer.

2.2 We will do our best to meet any commitment we have made about time or place to do the work. Please understand that factors outside of our control such as weather conditions, supplier issues, traffic issues, etc. Can make this difficult on occasions. We endeavour to inform you as soon as possible where issues arise and look to resolve them as soon as possible.

2.3 Minimum drive away time for jobs with use of adhesive can be up to six hours or as short as one hour. Ask the technician that carries out the job for you for advice. If the vehicle is used before the advised drive away time it may not bond sufficiently and lead to an accident or further risk of injury in the event of an accident.

2.4 You are authorising us to remove the damage glass from your vehicle.

3. Complaints

3.1 We always endeavour to provide complete customer satisfaction but in the event that a customer is not fully satisfied with the work that has been carried out we ask them to call us direct and ask to speak to a manager, alternatively we ask for the customer to write to us

3.2 Where subcontractors are used we make sure that they are fully insured to work on your vehicle (i.e. valid public and employers liability policies). Third party repairs will not be paid unless prior approval is given.

4. Our liability to you

4.1 An inspection of your vehicle is carried out before work takes place to check for any existing damage. It is not our responsibility to make good any such damage.

4.2 We cannot accept responsibility for anything which does not relate directly to the work we have done. We exclude specifically any claim for loss of earnings or profits or for items which it is claimed were in the vehicle. Claims for death or personal injury caused by our negligence fall outside this exclusion and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

4.3 We do not sell any personal information to third parties.

5. General

5.1 These Legal notices are based upon the laws of England. English law shall apply to any issue or dispute arising.
